November

It’s that time of year when that the sun sets early and the temperature drops and the celebrations are just beginning. We all know how busy our lives get during these months and how delicious the food becomes. Before we know it we gain on average between 8-10 lbs nation wide. Fortunately there are some ways to combat this. Remaining active is vital. Simple things like taking the stairs, parking the car at the end of the parking lot. Snowshoeing, skiing, and ice-skating are also fun ways to keep the activity level up. Staying active is also helpful with preventing Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which has a prevalence during the winter months. Weight bearing exercises help with the prevention of osteoporosis.
