April

It's that time of year when many of us get the urge to clean out closets and cupboards and deep clean our living spaces. Spring cleaning not only reduces allergens and toxins, it also reduces stress, increases energy and helps with an overall sense of well-being. If you are struggling with allergies or having trouble sleeping, removing the allergens and toxins can help. Clutter collects dust as do all the things in our homes that are not being used regularly. Look at what you can eliminate and what just needs a good scrub. Be sure to clean out your fridge. Toxins build up when food spoils. Throwing old food out and wiping it down is a great idea every few months. The simple act of opening your windows to allow fresh air to flow through your home will clear out the air that can hang heavy with not only odors, but toxins, too.

Whether you do small projects like cleaning out your purse or big projects like the garage, getting rid of clutter allows you to feel a sense of peace in what can otherwise be a pretty crazy life. Spring cleaning should be something you want to do not something you feel you have to do. If you are not feeling like your house needs a deep clean, just pick a small project that you feel does need to be done and start there. Once you feel the satisfaction that comes with one de-cluttering, you may see other things you want to straighten up. If you are pregnant, now is not the time to do the deep cleaning by yourself. You should definitely start with the smaller things like your bags and drawers and get help with the bigger jobs.
Enjoy the Spring!
